NOTE: Click here to visit the Fan-Voted 40 page on the Fan-Voted Chart Blog.

Who’s #1?
After voluntarily pulling “I Like It, I Love It” from the chart after an 8-week reign at #1, Kerrigan La-Brooy now has a new #1 song on the chart.  “When I Travel My Last Mile” becomes Kerrigan’s 16th #1, his 15th #1 in a row (which extends his record), and claims #1 for the 95th week overall (which also extends his record).

Rest of the Top 10:
#2) “Second Home” by Tracy Lawrence (up 1)
#3) “Does He Love You” by Reba McEntire with Linda Davis (up 1)
#4) “I’d Lie to You for Your Love” by The Bellamy Brothers ft. K.T. Oslin (up 1)
#5) “This, That” by Taydem Shoesmith (up 2)
#6) “Single at a Wedding” by Jordyn Pollard (no change)
#7) “Kick a Little” by Tracy Lawrence, Rodney Carrington, David Adam Byrnes (up 4)
#8) “Just a Phase” by Brian Falduto (no change)
#9) “Take Her Home” by Kenny Chesney (no change)
#10) “God Blessed Texas” by Little Texas (no change)

Results From the 3/12 & 3/13/24 Voting

DISCLAIMER: These are only the results from the Fan-Voted Chart voting held on 3/12 and 3/13/24 that I will use to make the 3/17/24 Fan-Voted Chart; THIS IS NOT THE CHART (the chart can be found at http://dcmf.x10.mx/chart.html on Sunday).  I only share these with everyone so they can see how the voting went and how many points each song earned to be added to their cumulative total.  The chart will be revealed Sunday morning here in the US (that’s Sunday evening for my Australian voters)

This Week’s Retirement Info
Please note, the longer a song has been on the chart, the more songs it has to get more votes than (“beat”) in order to remain on the chart.  Here’s how that works this week based on the results down below:

Weeks in the VotingPercentage of Songs They Need to Get More Votes ThanHow many votes these songs had to get in the voting held from 3/12 and 3/13/24 to return to the voting next week
1, 2, 30%Safe, no matter what
4, 5, 610%6
7, 8, 920%7

25, 26, 2780%13
28, 2990%16
30Retired after this votingRetired after this voting

Please note: I use percentile to determine the number of votes to be safe; technically speaking, songs may not beat the same percentage of votes because of ties.  For example, if the math for the 10% mark is 40 votes and 50 songs had 40 votes, all 50 songs are safe no matter how many songs they beat.

This Week’s Results
Points are determined by multiplying the number of votes a song gets by the number of weeks it has been on the chart; the results are sorted by the Votes column.

If the Song and Artist/Group name are bolded and italicized, the song will not be in the voting or on the chart after this week

The #1 song every week has to first finish in the voting or else it will be retired after this voting (which means the chart this voting creates will be the song’s last chart).  If the previous #1 song is still in the voting, it will be listed with (#1) after the artist’s name.

Part 2: Who Will Be #1 on the 3/17/24 Fan-Voted Chart?
The Favorite: “When I Travel My Last Mile” by Kerrigan La-Brooy (15,567 Points), was #2 on the 3/10/24 Chart.

My Thoughts: We will have a new #1 this week as Kerrigan has decided to let his recent 8-week #1 “I Like It, I Love It” step aside so his next song can have some time to shine at #1 while we wait for Kerrigan to release his next song.

Part 3: Voting Info
The voting for the 3/17/24 Fan-Voted Chart will run from 5 am Eastern United States time on Tuesday, 3/12/24 until Thursday, 3/7/24 at 5 am (which is 8 pm Tuesday until 8 pm Thursday “Canberra Time” in Australia).

I will post the results for the voting at 6 am Eastern US time on Friday, 3/15/24 (9 pm in Canberra).

The 3/17/24 Fan-Voted Chart will be announced on Sunday, 3/17/24 at 6 am Eastern here in the US (9 pm in Canberra).

To vote, watch for me to post the link on my blog (The Fan Voted Chart), tweet the link (@FanVotedChart) or post the link on the Fans of the Fan-Voted Chart Facebook Group (The Fan Voted Chart Facebook Page).

Here’s the 3/10/24 Fan-Voted 40 Countdown Playlist

Here is the link to the Fan-Voted 40 Countdown Playlist for the 3/10/24 Edition of the Fan-Voted Chart: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL61xxXu8ssXwg2iP2k2OQ-BwtF4OQOQoK

Please note: you do not have to listen to the entire countdown at once; it is best listened to over the course of a few listens, but you can still listen to it in one “sitting” if you would like.

I am always looking for feedback on how to make the countdown better, so please share any you have!

FYI: Vacation Chart Upcoming

Hello everyone! I will be taking a family vacation the first week of April so there will be no voting on April 2nd and 3rd.

The 3/26 & 3/27 Voting will help create the 3/31/24 Chart, which will be dubbed a “Pre-Vacation” Chart and the 4/7/24 Chart will be created using my Vacation Policy, which you read more about here.
