Upcoming Artist Tributes on Country USA Chart

Since the change to three charts, we have not had any Artist Tribute Series songs join the Country USA chart. I started this series in 2017 and used the list of Country Music Hall of Famers to create a schedule of adds starting in 2019. By the end of 2025, I had gotten to a point where I no longer had any songs scheduled, so I had to wait for someone to pass away to add a song.

Recently, I realized that it had been almost a year since the last song was added (October 2025: “A Good Man” by June Carter Cash). I also noticed I forgot to add the newest Hall of Fame class to the tributes, which allowed me to add one song. I felt that this was not enough, so I decided to add songs once a month from October to December, using 90s Country Artists that I liked that are not in the Hall of Fame, which gives me 4 songs to add by the end of the year.

October: I added two Daryle Singletary songs when he passed away iearly in 2018 (“I Let Her Lie”), one right away, and another towards tin 2020 when it would have been his 50th birthdday (“Amen Kind of Love”). This time, I am adding “Even the Wind,” which is one of my favorites songs of his that was a single, but never on my chart (note: it was not a very successful single on the radio charts). November: Lari White did not have much success overall on the radio charts, but she had a few that I enjoyed. After adding one song at her death in 2018 (“Now I Know”) and then adding another to the series, which was added in 2025 (“That’s My Baby”). December: Joe Diffie passed away early in 2020, which is when I added “John Deere Green.” I then added “Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox (If I Die)” to the series, which landed early in 2025 around the 5th anniversary of his passing. Sticking with the theme of songs that haven’t been on my chart and won’t be a part of any other series, I am adding “Honky Tonk Attitude.” Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7qIFK1jZOM

Future: Listening to the songs I added reminded me that I only added a song from Hal Ketchum when he passed away in 2020, and did not add another to the series. At the time of his passing, I only knew a couple of his songs really well, and one of them was going to be in the chart as part of the 90s #1 series, so I added the other. Recently, I have on a 90s Country Music kick, so I have been listening to a lot of songs by different artists, and have connected a few songs I heard back in the 90s to Hal. To honor Hal, at some point in 2027, I will add “Hearts Are Gonna Roll” as part of this series, with the exact time to be determined; it will be after all four of songs being added are done, so no earlier than May 2027. I will then add “Sure Love” in early 2028, so he has three songs as part of the series, with that being added early in 2028, ahead of another series I have coming.

NOTE: I wrote this post and set it to automatically post BEFORE Dolly Parton passed away.  I will be adding “I Will Always Love You” to the upcoming voting, and will add her song “Jolene” in August 2027.
