Disclaimer: This is not the voting, just information for you to read about the upcoming voting if you choose.
The main purpose of this post is to announce what songs met the requirements for retirement because of the previous voting. To be retired from the voting means that the song has been removed from the voting and will no longer appear on the chart.
There are three categories for the ways a song can be retired:
- By percentage of the vote (does not apply to Level 10, promoted songs, and the Top 5 on each poll).
- Met certain conditions while on the Level 10 Poll
- Just spent its 30th week on the chart (the current time limit)
Retirement Category #1: Songs Who Missed Their Percentage:
The following songs did not get the percent of the votes needed; the “% Difference” column shows how short the songs were of their needed percentage:
|“What You Need”||Greensky Bluegrass||-0.50|
|“I May Not Take You Back Again”||Nothin’ Fancy||-1.00|
|“The Redbird River”||Dale Ann Bradley||-1.00|
|“Alabama Child”||James LeBlanc & The Winchesters ft. Angela Hacker||-1.00|
|“Somebody Like That”||Tenille Arts||-1.75|
|“Far From Good”||Triston Marez||-2.00|
|“Darcy Farrow”||The Seldom Scene||-2.00|
|“Feels Like the Devil”||Ben Morrison||-2.00|
|“Mr. Bankerman”||Jon Spear||-2.00|
|“Red Bird Flies”||The Lonely Heartstring Band||-2.00|
|“Over the Mountain”||Williamson Branch||-2.00|
|“Back in 1953”||Richard Lynch||-2.00|
|“Message in a Bottle”||Stoney LaRue||-2.50|
|“Blue Eyed Darlin'”||Jason Barie||-2.75|
|“Fire’t Up”||Brantley Gilbert||-5.00|
|“Getting Good”||Lauren Alaina||-11.75|
Retirement Category #2: Level 10
Each week, there are certain conditions songs have to avoid while on the Level 10 Poll in order to remain in the voting. Here are the conditions:
- Last Place (unless the song is the “safe” song)
- The reigning #1 song finishes lower than 3rd on the Level 10 Poll
- Any song in the voting for 21 or more weeks has to finish 4th or higher.
Last: “I;ll Fly Away” by Steven Curtis Chapman
Current #1: The reigning #1 song was “Five Foot Feisty” by Kevin Forrest Clark; it easily won the Level 10 Poll this week and therefore remains on the chart another week.
21+ Weeks: No songs have been on the chart long enough to be considered to be retired this way.
NOTE: Any song in their first week on Level 10 is safe from retirement UNLESS it is its 30th week in the voting.
Retirement Category #3: Timed Out
The songs listed here are being retired from the voting either because the artist has requested the song to be retired or the song has now spent 30 weeks on the chart, which is the most a song is permitted to be in the voting.
No songs this week
