NOTE: The voting link for this week is at the bottom of this post.
The Voting has opened, so who can be #1 on the 6/16-6/22 Chart?
For the first time in a long time, there is more than one song that can be #1. This week’s situation is also a little unusual due to the long reign at #1 for the previous song “Speak Love” by The Family Sowell. Sitting at #2 for a long time was “I’m Diggin’ It” by Jessie Lynn, but due to it now being out of the voting (it reached the 30 week mark the week after The Family Sowell), Jessie Lynn’s fans has no control over where “I’m Diggin’ It” ends up on this week’s chart. This week’s chart is the final chart “I’m Diggin’ It” will be on.
Songs on their final week on the chart (their “encore” week) give back 10% of the points they had earned while in the voting; this means “I’m Diggin’ It” will have 749 Points for this week’s chart. That total is very high when compared to many of the songs on the chart, but another song that has been hanging around, “Beautiful Crazy” by Luke Combs, has a chance to catch “I’m Diggin’ It” this week if the voting goes the right way.
Currently, “Beautiful Crazy” has 631 Points; if it wins the Level 10 Poll, it will have 651 Points, but that’s not including Bonus Points. There are 230 Points available to the songs on Level 10 based on the percentage of the vote they received. In order to pass “I’m Diggin’ It” “Beautiful Crazy” would have to earn 99 of those 230 Points and get to 750 Points (if the songs tie, “I’m Diggin’ It” has the tiebreaker because it has been on the chart longer). To get 99 points, “Beautiful Crazy” would have to get slightly more than 43% of the vote.
In short, if “Beautiful Crazy” wins the Level 10 Poll AND gets a vote from more than 43% of the voters, it will be #1. If not, “I’m Diggin’ It” will be #1 for this week and this week only.
The voting that will create the chart for the week of 6/16-6/22/19 will run from the time of this post until 8pmET on Thursday, 6/13 (10am in Canberra on Friday, 6/14 for my Australian voters). The 6/16-6/22/19 Chart will be announced at 8pmET on Saturday, 6/15 (10am on 6/16 in Australia).
To see what I usually refer to about points, I update my Point Distribution Info page weekly prior to this post. If interested, please check it out to see where I am getting my numbers from.
