When the voting resumes next week on April 30th, there will be a few changes; changes made with input from The Fan Voted Chart Advisory Group. The following are the changes:
- Voting and other posts will change times to 8pm Eastern US Time, which is 11am or 12pm in Canberra, Australia.
- I am changing the day and order of how things run. Here’s the new schedule–Sundays: Voting Preview: Who’s Out?; Mondays: Voting Preview: Who’s New?; Tuesdays: Voting Open: Who Can Be #1? (this combines my old Voting Preview: Who Can Be #1 and Voting Open posts); Wednesdays: Halfway Point of Voting post; Thursdays: Voting Closed post; Fridays: Results; Saturday: Chart Reveal. All these posts will take place at the 8pm Eastern US Time described above.
- Songs new to Level 10 will be exempt from being removed from the voting if they finish last on the Level 10 Poll. This change was made because about half the time since I started retiring last place on Level 10 each week, the song was on Level 10 for the first time. Now, the song who finishes last of all the eligible songs on Level 10 will be retired even if it wasn’t last overall.
- In the event of a tie for last place on Level 10, the older song will be the one to be retired; I was going to do this if there was a tie, the Advisory Group reinforced that thought so I am making it official.
These changes will start when I reveal the 4/28-5/4 Chart on Saturday, April 27th at 8pm Eastern and will be in effect until further notice.
