Thanks for taking the time to read any of this post, which I use as a way to inform you about the upcoming Voting to Create the 1/13-1/19/19 Fan Voted Chart.
Based on what poll a song is on and what place it finishes in will determine how many points the song will have added to its cumulative total. There is a total of 736 points to redistribute this week to get to the 10,000 points distributed to all the songs on the chart. The total number of points to redistribute is found by adding up the points that removed songs had in their last week on the chart plus the 10% of points songs lose between their last week in the voting and the last week on the chart. Basically, songs give up the points they had earned over their chart run and those points are redistributed to the songs that are in the voting. For more information on how the chart works, please visit http://dcmf.x10.mx/how.html
Here’s a more detailed breakdown of how points are distributed:
Bonus Points: 0
Here’s the Level by Level breakdown of how the Normal Distribution will work this week:
The “N/A” listed in the points column means there will not be a song that finishes in that place on that poll as there are not a full number of songs in the voting on that Level.
Due to there not being enough points to distribute all in the normal fashion, there will not be any bonus points this week and the number of points earned was decreased by 1 for a portion of the songs.
The following table outlines the movement of songs up levels or off of the chart so you can see how many songs will be on each poll and how many songs are moving up a level.
|Level||Songs on This Week’s Poll||Songs on Level, Not on Poll*||Songs Removed From the Chart**||Songs Promoted to the Next Level|
songs get an “encore” week after being retired from the voting (usually because
it didn’t get the required percent of votes it needed). When a song is on its “encore” week, it still
counts towards the 10 songs on the level.
**-after a song’s “encore” week, it is removed from the chart and a spot opens up on the level. The songs on the level below are able to move up to take the open spot and therefore creates an open spot on that level.
***-there is no limit to the number of songs on the Entry Level. The numbers provided in this row are merely for your information.
Can Be #1?
Last week’s #1 “Shield of Faith” by Alison Krauss & Union Station was retired from the voting since it did not place in the Top 3 vote recipients on last week’s Level 10 poll. Therefore, “Shield of Faith” is in an encore week where it gave back 10% of its points. The 10% of points dropped the total for “Shield of Faith” below last week’s #2 “Love Wins” by Carrie Underwood. With no bonus points being distributed this week (see below), no song can catch “Love Wins” so Carrie Underwood will have the #1 song on the 1/13-1/19/19 Fan Voted Chart
Each song that is “Retired, Still on the Chart/Level” will still be on this week’s chart as an “encore” but is removed afterwards. As part of this “encore” each song will lose 10% of their previous points (5 Points minimum, always rounded to the next whole number, minimum score of 0 Points) to simulate a fall down the charts before removal.
The Voting to Create the 1/13-1/19/19 Chart will run from 4pmEDT on Tuesday, 1/8 until 4pmET on Thursday, 1/10 (8am in Canberra on Wednesday, 1/9 until 8am in Canberra on Friday, 1/11 for my Australian voters). The 1/13-1/19/19 Chart will be revealed on Sunday, 1/6.
